There are Many differences between the educational system in Yemen and the eductional system here in United Kingdom. First of all is the age of going to school in United Kingdom is six years old but in Yemen it could be five four or six. Another dieffernce is that in United Kingdom there are three stages for educaion which are primery, secondry, and tertiary sectors, but the Yemeni eductional system has a middle stage before the secondrary which is called the preperation stage.
The most important exam in the Yemeni eductional system is the final exam of the final year of the secondary school. It is very important because it will determine a student'sfuture and it will give her or him a greater or smaller futural chances.
The most famuse university in Yemen is Sana'a University which is a governmental university. There are also many other good universetys like the S&T University which is one of the best private universities in Yemen. The strength of the higher education in Yemen is not that good comparing to the higher education in the U.K which is one of the strongests higher education if not the strongest in the world.
There are two school terms in Yemen and the holiday depends on religous holidays like Ead Ramadan.
In U.K a students can not leave school until they reach 16 years old but in Yemen, students can leave earler because some students are the only soppurters for their families. Therefore they have to leave school early to work for their families.

ReplyDeleteJust one point about the compuslory age to start school in UK - it's 4/5 (depending on date of birth), not 6. Also, try to do research outside the classroom - check the marking criteria for blogs on page 35 of handout. 'Evidence of careful research .........' and list your reference sources. Do school children in Yemen wear school uniform?
